Sunshine, Opportunity, and Everything Sparkling: A trip down shiny lane with topaz and Citrine
A month with not just one, but two shining stars. Welcome to November and here we are embracing it with the power of two. Topaz and Citrine are the two gemstones of the month and it is not every month that a month gets to shine double bright, so as we step into November, let us do so with double the light, double the glow and double the sparkle.
So, as we go deeper into the crystals, be ready for some comparisons, some surprises, some glowing wonders from our ateliers featuring these two stones and of course, a lot of shine.
The Homecoming
Topaz is believed to have been named after a small island called Topazos where plenty of golden stones were found. What is interesting to note is that these stones were later found to be peridot and not topaz. Talk about a false start to a shining future.
Citrine on the other hand comes from the old french word citrin meaning lemon. The colour spectrum of the gemstone is what gave it the name. Talk about life giving you lemons, but they shine.
Four times the Glow
A piece that truly plays a medley, this 18kt white gold pendant glitters with diamonds, glows with a 24-carat Blue Topaz from the land of the canaries, shines with a 7-carat Citrine from Thailand and gleams with cultured pearls from the land of cherry blossoms. Designed immaculately and crafted poetically, this is one adornment that truly stands for royalty.
From Russians to the Romans
Topaz has a royal Russian connection. The imperial Topaz, as it is called, is one of the most valuable varieties of this gemstone. It was used in the jewels for the Russian Czar’s family in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Romans are believed to be the first to wear Citrine. They crafted it into highly polished but unfaceted cuts of stones known as ‘cabochon’.
Fly On!!!
This breathtaking brooch cum pendant is an award-winning collection from C. Krishniah Chetty Group that features a delicate lady perched on a branch, her wings intricately fashioned from the radiant glow of Citrine gemstones. Adorned with delicately carved tourmaline stone flowers, the branch itself glistens with the brilliance of round Brilliant Cut Diamonds, while the lady’s captivating face shimmers with the subtle sophistication of a Rose Cut stone. Crafted with precision and passion, this enchanting masterpiece is brought to life in the timeless allure of 18k white gold, symbolising purity and everlasting sophistication.
A Sunlit Day to be Invisible
Ancient Greeks believed that wearing Topaz could grant the wearer the power of invisibility. How beautiful it would be at times to be invisible right? Now you don’t need Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak to make that dream a reality!
Citrine is considered to be the quintessential summer gemstone, offering a bright, invigorating presence that mimics the rejuvenating quality of the sun. Often hailed as the sunshine stone, Citrine encapsulates the essence of a sunlit day with its vibrant yellow hues reminiscent of the Amalfi Coast lemons. After all, who doesn’t love a cosy sunny day.
Garden of Eden
Embrace the magic of flowers and let your glow bloom like a beautiful garden. This 18kt rose gold bracelet, lavishly studded with diamonds and blooming with Blue Topaz flowers is crystal clarity meeting endless charms for an effortless shine that stands out and glows bright.
A Team of Giants
Topaz has always had a history of producing large crystals. Their sizes can reach up to 4 feet and weigh hundreds of pounds. The largest faceted gemstone in the world which is called ‘El-Dorado Topaz’ is 31,000 carats which is equivalent to 6.2kg.
Citrine is no lesser when it comes to the size. The largest faceted Citrine in the world is incredibly heavy at 20,200 carats.

A shining garland for the shining star in you. Crafted in 18kt white gold and embellished with diamonds and Blue Topazes in an alternating fashion, this necklace combines modern edge with timeless grace creating an aura that makes you the centre of attraction, wherever you go, and whatever you do.

If you are celebrating a love that is 13 years strong, then look no further than Citrine. These gemstones of the summer are the perfect gift for the 13th year of togetherness.
The Royal Insignia of the Wodeyars
Before the Karnataka government adopted this symbol, the mighty Gandaberunda was the symbol of the Wodeyar family. Paying homage to the legacy and the myth behind this fascinating deity, we are bringing you this symbol of strength with the magic of Blue Topaz. Boasting a 32-carats Blue Topaz with the Gandaberunda carved inside the stone, this piece is artistry designed to shining perfection. Surrounded by cubic zircons and featuring sharaba motifs on either side with gold danglers, this is a treasure for the ages and a heritage piece that screams niche.
